Process
Impression Scanning
Submission of Case can be done by physical A silicone impressions or Intra Oral Scanning.
Model Preparation
The SDalign experts will prepare a digital CAD model from the impression or intra-oral scan.
Teeth & Tissue Segmenting
Each tooth on the model is separated or segmented using a CAD design software.
Treatment Planning
The teeth are individually repositioned on the CAD Model to get the desired position at the end of the treatment.
Staging
The CAD Software is used to create a series of steps or stages to move the teeth from their original positions to the planned final position.
3D Printing of Models
Each step or stage is converted into a model and each stage or step is printed on a high tech 3D Printer.
Vacuum Forming
The 3D Printed models are used in a vacuum forming machine to vacuum form sheets of PETG into trays for each model.
Trim, Finish, Polish, Pack
The Vacuum formed aligner trays are hand trimmed & finished using a precision tooling system to create the final aligners.
Time Frames for the SDalign Delivery
Day 0
Submit Case Details & Photos
Provide details of the case like existing conditions, chief complaint or requirement, aesthetic expectations of the patient etc. on the SDalign form.
Attach extraoral photographs.
SDalign Team approves the case
Team will check for viability and expected prognosis and approve the case as per the analysis.
Day 1
Send Impression or Scan to SDalign
If the case is approved, the orthodontist should send the impression or an intraoral scan to SDalign.
SDalign Team will design the models & Treatment Plan
SDalign team will digitize CAD models out of the impression and design a proposed treatment plan & a virtual setup over the next 2 days.
Day 4
Receive Treatment Plan & Virtual Setup
Orthodontist will receive the proposed treatment plan & virtual setup. Orthodontist to review the treatment plan.
Take appointment for live planning session with SDExpert to edit and finalize the treatment plan & virtual setup.
Day 5
Live Video Call with Screen Share with SDExpert
Orthodontist will provide inputs on the treatment plan over a video conference with a digital dentistry and aligner expert from SDalign team.
The orthodontist can participate actively in the treatment planning over a screen share with the SDalign expert and can decide the tooth movements & staging.
Day 6
Final Approval on Treatment Plan
Orthodontist will provide final approval on the treatment plan and staging.
Orthodontist will give go-ahead for aligner production.
SDalign Team to start aligner manufacturing
SDalign team will starting the manufacturing process and prepare the aligners over the next 7 days.
Day 13
Final Dispatch of Aligners for Delivery
SDalign Team will dispatch the final aligners packed with

The delivery of the aligners will be received as per the courier or logistic partner timelines (generally 2 – 3 days)
